Encaustic means "Burning In"
and is an Old World
Art
dating back to 2000BC used by the Romans, Greeks and
Egyptians. In order to create paintings, they melted bees
wax over charloal fires and added plant resins for color.
Helen Hajjar has mastered a new way of painting using
wax as paint and uses a small electric travel iron and
colored wax. Using her own creativity and uniqueness,
she has made many paintings, and has also written an
Instruction Book on "How to Paint with Wax". These
paintings will last longer than oils and do not need a glass
to preserve them. They will last a lifetime! The colors are
outstanding, exciting, original and beautiful and can have
dramatic results.
Helen has won numerous Awards, including First Place,
Second, Third, Honorable Mention and also Judges
Recognition for her outstanding work at different
Exhibitions and Art Leagues here in Fl. and Ct.
Helen has Instructed at the Boca Raton Resort, Delray Art
League and Women in the Visual Arts , and for other
organizations
