Carolyn Barth
My non-representational art is developed from images which
emerge during the painting process. I start by applying paint freely, exploring
color, shape, texture and line, until I zero in on an idea I want to pursue. My
interest is in the excitement of motion and discovery and of creating something
new and unique.
I was born in Montreal, grew up in Connecticut, and moved to Florida in 1997. I
have a degree in Art Education from Southern Connecticut State College and have
studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York and Fleisher Art Memorial in
Philadelphia. After working for a short period illustrating children‘s
educational materials, I returned to fine art as my main focus, painting and
exhibiting on a regular basis. In addition to membership in several local art
organizations, I am a Signature Member of the International Society of Acrylic
Painters and I am represented in private collections in the United States and
Canada.
