Artist Biography
My oil paintings are displayed in many statewide collections and have won numerous awards in Florida exhibitions. In the past I have shown my paintings in many of the prestigious art shows in South Florida and was accepted into the Ft. Lauderdale Museum of Art Show several years in a row. When I lived in Ft. Lauderdale, I worked for several yacht brokerages and did many commissions for yacht brokers who gave paintings to buyers as a gift. Facts of note: When I travel I like to take many photographs and use them as source material for future paintings. Florida, like no other place, offers an artist a treasure of scenes of beach and landscapes which are perfect for the creation of fine works of art. Boats on the calm water of the Gulf of Mexico and children playing on the many beaches will make a painting of Florida even more memorable when it is hanging in your home for continual enjoyment. I also enjoy painting my African violets and Orchid plants because of the varied colors and textures displayed. When I do Commission work, I work from photos provided by the client, i.e. vacation photos, family pet, boat portraits. My most recent commission was an owner’s 150’ yacht docked in lovely Portifino, Italy. I am a long time member of the Boca Raton Art Guild, the Coral Springs Art Guild, and the Delray Art League. I currently have one painting on exhibit at Sugar Sands Park Community Center in Boca from September 2 – November 2, 2009; two paintings on display in the Delray Beach City Hall from May 1- to October 2, 2009; Two paintings at The Courtyard Building in Boca Raton from July 27- to September 11, 2009.
